In this project I designed, modeled and textured an EEG-headband for Mentalytics.
It started as an outsourced project, but was later decided we knew better what we needed in-house so I was tasked with creating a few mockups to choose from. One of them had this kind of dog bone shape, which was selected as the company favorite and was taken further to a high poly version for printing and rendering.
It’s the first time I’ve made something with the goal to become a physical product. We wanted the headband to be sleek and comfortable while also stable enough for an hour of data recording. It was also important that the headband could be worn at the same time as a gaming headset.
The insides are modeled and textured after the actual electronics that was put in the first 3d-printed model for testing, and all the animations were made by me and rendered in Unreal Engine.
