Inspired by Kyle Anthony Miller I wanted to create a modern grid based design and decided on a web welcome page for a fictional drone traffic monitoring company.
I started by experimenting with the best way of creating the grid in Photoshop and ended up choosing to work with multiple custom Pattern layers.
Then I started looking for a good stock image of traffic seen from a birdseye perspective. I found this one by Ed 259 which felt perfect for my idea.
I needed a custom logo for the header so I created one in Illustrator. In my head this was an older company pivoting towards new AI-stuff, so I went with a simple oldschool text logo with few colors and drew an accompanying drone to go with it:
Since I wanted to put big clean industrial text over my image I also needed a cool font up for the job and decided on Analogue Reduced.
With all the parts I needed, I could now finish designing the image and create an intro animation. See it below!
